Key Takeaways

  • Semenax asks for 4 capsules a day across 18 ingredients. Holy Grail is 3 ingredients in 2 softgels.
  • Seven of Semenax’s 18 ingredients are dosed at 50 mg or less per day.
  • Semenax contains no sunflower lecithin and no pygeum, the two ingredients men use most for volume and thickness.
  • Semenax has a 63-man company-hosted trial. Holy Grail has a 312-customer survey. Neither is a large independent trial, and we say so.
  • Semenax’s guarantee requires returning the containers within 67 days. On the Holy Grail 90-Day plan you get 90 days and keep the product.

Semenax is the name most men run into first. It has been sold for years, it has a trial, and it has a lot of reviews. So when men compare, they usually start with “is Semenax better?” The fastest way to answer that is to put the two labels side by side. Here’s what that shows.

1. Eighteen ingredients vs. three

01 · Formula philosophy

18ingredients in Semenax’s daily serving
Semenax Holy Grail
Active ingredients 18 3
Capsules per day 4 2 softgels
Proprietary blend No No

Semenax spreads one daily serving across 18 ingredients. Holy Grail spends the whole formula on three.

Per the label record filed with the NIH, a daily serving of Semenax is 4 capsules containing 18 active ingredients, from vitamin E and zinc to maca, catuaba, muira puama, hawthorn and Swedish flower pollen.[1] Every amount is listed, and there’s no hidden blend.

But a long list has a cost. Four capsules hold a fixed amount, and eighteen ingredients have to share it.

2. Seven ingredients at 50 mg or less

02 · Dose per ingredient

7 of 18Semenax ingredients dosed at 50 mg or less per day
Semenax Holy Grail
Largest single dose 500 mg (Butea superba, L-carnitine) 1,200 mg (sunflower lecithin)
Ingredients at ≤50 mg/day 7 0
Smallest dose 30 mg (pumpkin) 50 mg (zinc)

For scale: 50 mg is less than a twentieth of the lecithin in two Holy Grail softgels.

Hawthorn, cranberry, tribulus, avena sativa, sarsaparilla and Swedish flower are each listed at 50 mg a day, and pumpkin at 30 mg.[1] Those are on the label. Whether 50 mg of any of them does anything for volume is a question the label can’t answer, and Semenax doesn’t publish an answer either.

3. No lecithin. No pygeum.

03 · The inputs men actually use

0 of 2of the two most-used volume ingredients in Semenax
Semenax Holy Grail
Sunflower lecithin Not in formula 1,200 mg
Pygeum extract Not in formula 200 mg, standardized
Zinc 30 mg zinc aspartate 50 mg zinc citrate

Semenax leaves out both of the ingredients men reach for most when they build a volume stack themselves.

Most of semen is fluid from the seminal vesicles and the prostate.[3] Lecithin is the ingredient most associated with volume in men’s reports, and pygeum is the best-studied herbal extract for the prostate, across 18 controlled trials.[4] Semenax contains neither.[1]

4. The Semenax trial, read closely

Semenax’s strongest argument is a clinical study, and it deserves a fair reading. According to its site, 63 men aged 30 to 60 took Semenax or a placebo for two months in a double-blind design. The study’s stated objective was orgasm length and intensity, and the site reports that more men on Semenax saw a volume increase of 20% or more than men on placebo.[2]

One thing is worth knowing. The study report is hosted on Semenax’s own website, and the page doesn’t say who paid for it.[2]

Our own evidence is a customer survey, not a trial, and we label it that way: of 312 customers, 94% reported noticeable results in 3–6 weeks.[6]

5. The guarantee fine print

05 · Risk to try it

Semenax’s guarantee runs 67 days from delivery. To claim it, you return the containers so they arrive at the warehouse within that window, refunds exclude shipping, and it’s limited to one order per customer.[2] Holy Grail’s guarantee is tiered: 90 days on the Holy Grail 90-Day plan and 30 days on monthly or one-time orders, first order only, refund minus shipping, and you keep the product with no return needed.[5]

6. Price for 90 days

Semenax lists one bottle at $59 and three bottles at $159.[2] The Holy Grail 90-Day plan is $144 every 12 weeks with free shipping, or $48 a month.

Who each one is for

If you want a long ingredient list and a brand that has been around a long time, Semenax is that. If you want the three inputs men actually build their own stacks around, each at a full dose, in two softgels, with a guarantee you can claim without mailing anything back, that’s what Holy Grail was built to be.

Questions men ask before switching

Can I take Holy Grail and Semenax together?

We don’t recommend stacking products you haven’t checked against each other. Both contain zinc, so combining them adds up. If you want to try both, talk to your doctor first.

Why doesn’t Semenax include lecithin or pygeum?

Semenax doesn’t say. Its label simply doesn’t include either one.[1] If those two are the ingredients you’re looking for, Semenax isn’t the formula that has them.

How long until I notice a difference?

First changes usually show around week three. The full effect takes about 90 days.

The short version

Three ingredients that each have a job: sunflower lecithin 1,200 mg, standardized pygeum extract 200 mg and zinc 50 mg. Every amount printed on the label. Two softgels a day. Trusted by men since 2009, and more than 100,000 men have used it.

In a survey of 312 customers, 94% reported noticeable results in 3–6 weeks.[6] First changes usually show around week three; the full effect takes about 90 days, which is why the Holy Grail 90-Day plan is built around that window.
